Black Cult are a band from Croatia that plays a very raw, melodic and satanic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Neo Satanism" which was released as a joint effort between Satanath Records, Black Plague Records, and Metallic Media.
A very raw and old school black metal sound starts off the album along with some screams and a great amount of melody and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the music has a very heavy Swedish vibe.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some of the riffs also bring in elements of thrash and heavy metal and some of the deeper vocals bring in a touch of death metal and some songs bring in atmospheric elements and spoken word parts and some tracks also bring in a clean playing and a great amount of the riffs are very catchy and also brings in a touch of black'n'roll and they close the album with a cover of Burzum's "Jesus Tod".
Black Cult plays a style of black metal this is very satanic, raw and melodic while also being very catchy at times, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Black Cult are a very great sounding melodic, raw and satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Demon-stration" "In Satan We Trust" "Neo Satanism" and "Sacrificial Pentagram". 8 out of 10.
