Grauzeit are a band from Germany that has been featured before in this zine and plays a mixture of depressive post black metal and shoegaze and this is a review of their self rleeased 2015 ep "Antagonist".
Dark sounding keyboards start off the ep giving the music a very atmospheric feeling along with some melodic shoegaze style guitar leads a few seconds later that also takes the music into more of a post rock direction and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the music starts getting heavier a minute into the recording.
Throughout the recording the music alternates between the clean and heavy parts and the heavier side leans towards an atmospheric and depressive style of black metal and most of the tracks are very long and epic in length and all of the music is instrumental and sticks to either a very slow or mid paced musical direction.
Grauzeit creates a recording that remains true to the depressive post black metal style of previous recordings while also mixing more shoegaze elements this time and keeping everything instrumental and the production also sounds very powerful for being a self released recording.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Grauzeit and if you are a fan of shoegaze , post and depressive black metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Antagonist". 8 out of 10.
