Artificum Nex are a band from Russia that plays a very and melodic raw form of black metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Epitaph For Life" which was released as a joint effort between Satanath Records and Black Plague Records.
A very dark and atmospheric keyboard sound starts off the album and after a minute melodic guitar leads and heavy guitars become a huge part of the recording and when the music speeds up it brings in more of a fast and raw black metal direction that also introduces high pitched grim screams and blast beats onto the recording.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos and leads also stick to a very melodic musical direction and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with the riffs also adding in a touch of melodic death metal at times and they also manage to make the music atmospheric with the guitar style.
Artificum Nex plays a style of black metal that is very raw and melodic and captures the atmosphere of the Swedish bands along with a great amount of talent and skill, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Artificum Nex are a very great sounding raw and melodic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Rotting Temple" "Ascended by Fire" "Prophecy Of Blood" and "Pale Rider". 8 out of 10.
