Fluisteraars are a band from the Netherlands that plays a very epic and atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Dromers" which was re-issued in 2015 on compact disc by Eisenwald.
A very heavy and raw black metal sound starts off the album and a few seconds later grim high pitched screams make their presence known on the recording and when acoustic guitars are utilized they bring in more of a progressive and folk music feeling to the tracks and the heavier riffs also add in a great amount of melody.
When solos and leads are utilized they bring in more of a modern and atmospheric black metal sound and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and all 3 of the tracks are very long and epic in length and as the album progresses whispers can be heard in certain sections of the recording.
Fluisteraars plays a style of black metal that is very modern, atmospheric and melodic sounding while also having its raw and progressive moments as well as adding in a touch of folk to create a style of their own, the production sounds very powerful while the lyrics are written in Dutch and cover darkness and nature themes.
In my opinion Fluisteraars are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACK "De Dooren". 8 out of 10.
