Eye Of Nix are a band from Washington that plays a mixture of raw and atmospheric black metal, crust and sludge and this is a review of their 2015 album "Moros" which was released by Belief Mower.
Clean playing starts off the album along with some melodic, operatic female vocals a few seconds later and after awhile drums make their presence known which also leads up to a heavier musical direction and when the music speeds up it goes for a very fast raw black metal sound and also utilizes a great amount of blast beats.
When screams are utilized they mix black metal and crust/grind together and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the slower sections are very heavily influenced by sludge and doom metal and they also alternate between both clean and heavy parts quite a bit throughout the recording.
Some songs also bring in elements of harsh noise and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and as the album progresses death metal growls and early 90's indie rock influences can be heard and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and when spoken word parts are utilized they give the music more of a ritualistic feeling.
Eye Of Nix plays a musical style that takes raw black metal and mixes it with sludge, crust, operatic vocals, experimental and art rock to create a style of their own, the production sounds very dark yet heavy, while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Eye Of Nix are a very great sounding mixture of black metal, crust and sludge and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "We Perish' "Shroud" and "Rome Burned". 8 out of 10.

I really like their sound - the spoken and word arts give a sensation of legitimately dark evocation. RAD!
