Fleur Rouge/Ballades En Ville/2020 EP Review

  Fleur  Rouge  are  a  duo  from  India  that  plays  post  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2020  ep  "Ballades  En  Ville".

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  ep  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  synths  also  add  in  some  post  rock  elements  as  well  as  giving  the  music  more  of  an  atmospheric  feeling  along  with  a  touch  of  ambient.

  At  times  the  music  also  captures  a  very  lo-fi  atmosphere  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  post  metal  style.   Most  of  the  black  metal  screams  are  added  in  the  background  along  with  one  track  also  adding  in  some  vocals  into  the  softer  sections  of  the  music  and  most of  the  heavier  sections  of  the  music  stick  to  a  very  fast  and  raw  style.

  Fleur  Rouge  plays  a  style  of  post  black  metal  that  is  very  raw,  lo-fi  and  atmospheric  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark,  depressive  and  urban  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Fleur  Rouge  are  a  very  great  sounding  post  black  metal  duo  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Suicide  In  Shibuya"  and  "Ciel  Triste".  8 out  of  10.
