Ordo Sanguinis Noctis are a duo from Poland that plays a very raw and old school form of occult black metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Chthonic Blood Mysteries" which will be re-issued on cassette in June of 2020 by Eternal Death.
Dark yet ritualistic soundscapes and synths start off the album before going into a heavier direction while the riffs also add in a small amount of melody at times. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams along with some spoken word parts also being used briefly and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
The songs also add in a decent mixture of both old school and modern influences as well as some of the vocals also adding in a semi melodic tone but keeping it grim at the same time, clean playing and synths can also be heard briefly on the closing track. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in a mixture of Polish and English and cover occultism and arcane themes.
In my opinion Ordo Sanguinis Noctis are a very great sounding raw and old school occult black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Scarlet Blackness Esoterism" "The Triple Of Three Arcana" and "Recenge Of The Netherworld Entity". 8 out of 10.
