This is the final review of an album from Negativvm which continues their heavy and straight forward approach to black metal with the recording being self released in 2013 and called "HVNGERKVNST".
"Schneeblinder Bruder" which is also the first song on the album opens up with dark ambient sound effects and ritualistic chanting and a few seconds later bass and clean guitars start to kick in along with some drums and a minute later the music gets heavy and goes into a fast, raw and primitive black metal direction along with some drums before slowing down and adding in some melodic guitar leads which leads to a cleaner direction and grim black metal screams a few seconds later and then the music starts getting heavy again and then starts alternating between fast and slow parts and towards the end there is a brief use of spoken word parts.
"Wie Man Einen Koph Macht" begins with fast black metal guitar and bass riffs along with some drums and then the song starts alternating between slow and fast parts along with some high pitched screams and halfway through the song there is a brief use of clean playing being utilized along with ambient sound effects and towards the end the music gets heavy again along with a small amount of post black metal guitar leads.
"Ohne Trost" opens up with a bass guitar lead and a few seconds later drums and clean guitars kick in before going into a heavier direction with the guitar riffing and post black metal guitar leads which then leads up to grim black metal screams kicking in and a few seconds later acoustic guitar riffs and spoken word parts come into the song and then the music stays in a clean direction while still utilizing black metal vocals and then the music starts alternating between heavy and clean parts.
"Aus Bunkerwelton" kicks in with heavy guitar riffs and drums along with some doom metal style melodies and a minute later the music gets more black metal sounding along with some fast raw and primitive guitar riffs, blast beats and high pitched screams a few seconds later before going into a more slow and mid paced direction and towards the end it returns to a faster direction.
"Schreiende Leiber" which is also the last song on the album opens up with fast, raw and primitive black metal guitar and bass riffs along with blast beats from the drums and a high seconds later high pitched screams kick in and then the music starts to alternate between slow and fast parts as well as adding in a brief use of melodic guitar leads and as the song moves on clean guitars start to mix in with the heavier parts.
Song lyrics are written in German and cover distrust of humanity and hopelessness themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful and heavy sounding for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording along with the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Negativvm and if you are a fan of black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Schneeblinder Bruder" "Ohne Trost" and "Schreiende Leiber". RECOMMENDED BUY.
