This is a review of another album from Negativvm which includes all of the songs from the first album along with a couple of other tracks and the album was self released in 2013 and called "Retrograde("Tronie" Live)".
"Lingchi" which is also the first song on the album opens up with the band talking to the audience before adding in sound effects and spoken word samples and after awhile black metal guitar riffs, blast beats from the drums and grim screams kick in and then the music goes into a fast direction along with some blast beats and after awhile the music slows down a bit and adds in a small amount of clean singing for a few seconds before speeding up again.
"Kein Himmel" opens up with audience noise before adding black metal guitar and bass riffs along with drums and a few seconds alter grim sounding high pitched screams kick in and a minute later the music goes into a faster direction along with a small amount of blast beats before alternating between mid paced and fast parts and you can hear melodies coming from the guitars at times.
"Unter den Uhren" begins with dark sound effects before adding in drums and atmospheric, melodic black metal guitar riffing and a few seconds later grim screams start to kick in and after a couple of minutes the music goes into a faster direction along with blast beats for awhile before returning back to its normal pace.
"Menetekel" starts up with drums and heavy, mid paced black metal guitar riffs and a few seconds later high pitched screams start making their presence known in the song and a minute later the music goes into a more fast, raw and primitive direction along with some blast beats and then alternating between slow, mid paced and fast sections.
"Chore aus Gold" kicks in with ambient style sound effects and a few seconds alter drums, fast, raw and primitive sounding black metal guitar riffs start to kick in along with blast beats and high pitched screams and then the music starts alternating between slow and fast parts as well as adding in a brief use of spoken word samples and at times you can hear melodies coming out of the guitar riffing and the song closes with sound effects.
"Wie man einen Kopf macht" makes its way in with dark ambient sound effects and a few seconds later drums that also utilize some blast beats and r aw black metal guitar riffs start to kick in along with some high pitched screams and after a couple of minutes the music goes into a faster direction and then alternating between slow and fast parts and halfway through the song there is also a brief use of clean playing being utilized before getting heavy again along with some post black metal guitar leads.
"Von Wolf Und Hass" which is the last song on the album as well as an Ulver cover song begins with distorted amplifier sounds along with some melodic guitar riffing before adding in drums and fast raw black metal guitar riffs along with with some drums and high pitched screams and you can hear melody coming out of the guitar riffing
Song lyrics are written in German and cover distrust of humanity and hopelessness themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful and heavy sound with all of the songs being recorded live along with a few that are very long and epic in length.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Negativvm and if you are a fan of black metal, you should check out this live album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lingchi" "Menetekel" and "Von Wolf Und Hass". RECOMMENDED BUY.
