Khaos Aeon are a band from Germany that plays an occult form of black metal along with some death metal elements and this is a review of their self released 2013 album "Koengreich".
"Death" which is also the first song on the album opens up with some avant garde sound effects before adding in some heavy and melodic guitar riffs along with some drums and a few seconds later guitar solos come in briefly before adding in some grim sounding high pitched black metal screams along with some spoken word parts and evil sounding clean singing and you can also heat some bass guitars in the background and as the song gets closer to the end guitar solos and leads return in certain sections.
"Pyre" starts up with some fast and melodic old school black metal guitar and bass riffs along with some drums and blast beats before slowing down and adding in grim vocals along with some guitar leads and then going into a more mid paced direction and as the song moves on death metal growls are added in and then the song goes back to a more raw and fast direction for a few seconds and then going into another guitar lead and towards the end there is a brief use of melodic vocals..
"Night" opens up with some sound effects before adding in melodic guitar riffs and drums which then lead to grim black metal vocals and a brief use of blast beats and as the song moves on guitar solos and leads start coming in and out which also lead to some melodic vocals and towards the end sound effects make a return briefly while also keeping around guitar leads before getting heavy again and you can hear some bass in the background.
"Koenigreich" which is also the title track opens up with ritualistic sounds and a minute later heavy and melodic guitar and bass riffs come in along with some drums and black metal vocals before going into faster riffing and blast beats and then alternating between mid paced and fast sections and as the song moves on there is a brief use of guitar leads being utilized along with a small amount of growls.
"Setech" begins with occult and avant garde sounds and a few seconds alter heavy and melodic guitars along with drums and black metal screams kick in and a few seconds alter melodic guitar leads are added to certain sections of the song and towards the end you can hear a small amount of melodic vocals for a couple of seconds.
"Blood" comes in with angry shouts before fast black metal guitar riffs and drums kick in and a few seconds later it slows down adds in melody, bass guitars and screams and then mostly sticking to a more mid paced direction but also speeding up at times, halfway through the song there is a brief use of spoken word parts as well as clean singing and then the song adds in some clean guitars before getting heavy again.
"Khaon" makes it way in with clean guitar playing as well as sound effects and a few seconds later heavy guitars and drums start to kick in along with some solos and leads which also leads to some black metal screams and growls before speeding up along with fast bass guitars as well as mixing in slow, mid paced and fast sections and towards the end there is a brief use of guitar effects being utilized.
"Life' which is also the last song on the album opens up with some heavy and melodic guitar riffs along with drums and a few seconds later black metal vocals hit in and a minute later t here is a brief use of clean guitar which also leads up to some solos.
Song lyrics cover Esoteric, Occultism, Ancient Forces and Luciferian themes, while the production h as a very strong, powerful and heavy sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
