Profecium are a band from Argentina that plays a satanic and communist form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 1997 album "Socialismo Satanico".
"Declaracion de Principios" which is the intro for the album opens up with dark sounding atmospheric synths before adding in heavy guitar riffs and spoken word parts and you can also hear acoustic guitars in the background.
"Dios Explotador" which is also the first real song on the album begins with a mixture of heavy and acoustic guitars before adding in drums and black metal screams as well as some clean singing mixed down low in the background and a minute later it speeds up a bit along with some blast beats and melodic guitar riffing as well as a small amount of blast beats.
"Proleterios Unidos" opens up with soft acoustic guitar playing before adding in heavier guitars and black metal screams and a minute later there is a brief use of melodic guitar leads and the song sticks to a mid paced direction.
"El Lamento De Sus Mujures" begins with drum beats before adding in heavy and melodic guitar and bass riffs as well as some drums and black metal screams and you can also hear elements of punk in the song and after awhile a small amount of synths and blast beats make their way into the song, halfway through the song the heaviness stops for awhile and clean guitars along with spoken word parts kick in while also keeping around the black metal vocals and then getting heavy again.
"Cruz Fascista" kicks in with soft and clean guitar playing along with some bass guitars before adding in drums, synths and spoken word parts and a minute later heavy and melodic guitar riffs along with black metal screams kick in and after awhile the music speeds up along with a small amount of blast beats before returning to a slower direction.
"Terrorismo De Estado" starts up with raw black metal guitar and bass riffs along with drums and grim screams as well as the guitar riffing utilizing some melody and the song is very short and under 2 minutes.
"Socialismo Satanico" which is also the title track of the album opens up with slow and heavy guitar riffs along with some drums and synths along with some spoken word parts a few seconds later as well as bringing in black metal screams and after awhile there is a brief use of deep death metal growls and then the bass guitars get more powerful as well as the song going into a faster direction along with a small amount of blast beats.
"En El Nombre De la Sangre" hits it off with raw black metal guitar and bass riffs along with drums and synths being adding in black metal screams as well as a small amount of blast beats and a minute later the music goes into a slower direction and towards to the end it returns to being fast again.
"Impalando Burgueses" makes its way in with soft and clean guitar playing along with clean singing in the background and then heavy and melodic guitar riffs, drums and synths kick in as well as bass and spoken word parts and halfway through the song black metal vocals finally start to kick in and towards the end the music goes into a faster direction along with some blast beats.
"Inkisidor Imperial" is introduced with heavy thrash influenced guitar and bass riffs along with some drums and black metal screams and then the song goes into a more mid paced direction for awhile but returns back to the thrash influences towards the end.
"Blackers Facistas" which is the outro for the album begins with dark sounding synths and grim black metal vocals as well as some spoken word samples and you can hear clean guitars in the background.
Song lyrics are written in Spanish and cover Satanism, Black Arts, Communist and Anti Fascist themes, while the production has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the album.
In my opinion Profecium are a very great sounding satanic and communist black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Dios Explotador" "Cruz Fascista" "Socialismo Satanico" and "Inkisidor Imperial". RECOMMENDED BUY.
