Dark Managarm are a band from France that plays a very fast and anti human form of black metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Back From Hell" which was released by Iron, Blood And Death Corporation.
"Back From Hell" which is also the first song on the album as well as title track opens up with drum beats and melodic, dark guitar riffs before going into a faster and heavier direction along with blast beats and high pitched black metal screams which also utilize a small amount of death metal elements and the song sticks to a fast and brutal direction.
'War God Excecration" begins with fast and heavy guitar riffs along with some drums a few seconds alter that evolve into blast beats once the high pitched screams kick in and after awhile you can hear some primitive melodies in the guitar riffing along with a small amount of deeper vocals and halfway through the song there is a brief use of mid paced sections before getting fast again as well as alternating between the two parts.
"Underworld Glorification" opens up with drum beats that evolve into blast beats once the fast Swedish style black metal guitar riffs and grim sounding high pitched screams kick in and then the music slows down a bit and adds in melody and a brief use of growls before alternating between fast and slow parts.
"Necromancia" starts up with fast and heavy guitar riffs along with brutal blast beats and high pitched screams and a few seconds alter the music starts adding in mid paced sections along with a small amount of death metal growls before alternating between mid paced and fast parts.
"Plague' kicks in with slow and heavy guitar riffs along with some drums and the song has a thrash feeling to it in the beginning before going into a more raw and fast black metal direction along with blast beats and high pitched screams and you can also hear bass guitars in certain sections of the song as well as a brief use of deep growls and after a couple of minutes the guitar riffing also utilizes a small amount of dark sounding melodies while also going for more of a mid paced direction and then speeding up again.
'Blasphemic Humiliation" comes in with heavy guitar riffs along with drums before going into a faster direction with brutal blast beats and high pitched screams and the song sticks to a fast black metal direction.
"Nocturnal Reaper" is introduced with old school black metal guitar riffs that are very fast along with some blast beats from the drums as well as some high pitched screams and after awhile there is a brief use of mid paced sections while mostly sticking to a faster direction.
"Misanthropic Armageddon" makes its way in with sounds of war and air raid sirens before adding in some fast black/war metal style guitar riffs along with blast beats from drums as well as a mixture of high pitched screams and deep growls and after awhile the music starts to alternate between mid paced and fast parts.
"Hell's Wolf Reing" which is also the last song on the album begins with wolves barking before going into some fast and chaotic black metal guitar and bass riffs along with some blast beats from the drums before adding in mid paced sections, melodic guitar riffing and grim screams along with a small amount of deeper vocals which leads to the music sticking mostly to a faster direction.
Song lyrics cover Anti Human, Misanthropic, Blasphemous and occultism themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful and heavy sound that is not either too raw or overproduced sounding.
In my opinion Dark Managarm are a very great sounding fast, anti human black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Back From Hell" "Necromancia" "Blasphemic Humiliation" and "Hell's Wolf Reing". RECOMMENDED BUY.
