Mrakobesie are a band from Russia that plays a raw, satanic and communist form of black metal and this is a review of their 2006 demo "The Beast".
"The Eye Of Typhoon" which is also the first song on the demo opens up with heavy guitar riffs and drums and a few seconds later black metal screams kick in and the music goes into a rawer direction and after awhile their is a brief use of blast beats as well as some deep demonic growls along with a few seconds of synths before getting heavy again.
"Dead Forest" begins with dark sounding synths before adding in heavy guitar riffs and drums and a few seconds later grim black metal screams kick in along with some folk music elements and halfway through the song there is a brief use of whispers before getting heavy again.
"The Necromancer" opens up with drums and dark sounding guitar riffs and a few seconds later grim screams come in with the music getting more raw and fast along with loud drum noises and melodic guitar riffing, after a couple of minutes the music slows down and you can hear the bass guitars along with some guitar leads and demonic growls before returning to a faster direction.
"The Beast" which is also the title track opens up with drum beats and raw black metal guitar and bass riffs and then going into a fast direction before the high pitched screams kick in and then the music starts to alternate between mid paced and fast parts along with a brief use of deep demonic vocals.
"Christian Whore" kicks in with sex noises before the raw guitar and bass riffs come in along with some drums and a small amount of demonic vocals and a few seconds later blast beats start to kick in and a minute later grim screams are added into the song.
"Dreams Of A Black Sainthood" comes in with sound effects and a few seconds later heavy guitar riffs along with drums and black metal screams kick in and a couple of minutes there is a brief use of melodic guitar leads being utilized and the song closes with the sound effects.
"Kohhoapmencknn Mapw" hits it off with distorted guitar sounds along with drums before adding in melodic guitar riffs along with black metal screams and towards the end there is a brief use of melodic chanting being utilized.
"Katnewya" which is also the last song on the demo begins with soft acoustic guitar playing that has a folk music feeling to it before adding in heavy guitar riffs, drums and black metal screams and towards the end there is a brief use of melodic guitar leads being utilized.
Song lyrics are written in Russian and cover Satanism, Occultism, Anti Christian and Communism themes, while the production has a very raw and primitive sound while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present o on this recording along with one of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Mrakobesia are a very great sounding raw, satanic, communist black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Eye Of Typhoon" "The Necromancer" and "Dreams Of A Black Sainthood". RECOMMENDED BUY.
