Puna Terrori are a 1 man band from Finland that plays a very raw and noisy form of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2013 demo.
"Empires In Ruin" which is also the first song on the demo opens up with spoken word parts and a few seconds later grim sounding high pitched screams kick in along with some old school black metal guitar riffs and drums and the song sticks to a mid paced direction.
"Under The Sign Of The Star" begins with drum beats, high pitched screams and fast, raw and primitive sounding black metal guitar riffs and after awhile the music slows down for a bit and adds dark and epic sounding synths into the song before returning to a more fast and heavy direction while also keeping around the synths in certain parts.
"The Path To Our Destiny" kicks in with slow, and distorted guitar riffs before adding in screams and drums with the music going for an old school black metal sound as well as mixing in some sloppy sounding melodies and towards the end guitar leads and blast beats are utilized.
"Kristittyjen Viimeinen Yo" which is also the last song on the demo starts up with spoken word samples before adding in heavy guitar riffs, drums and black metal screams and the song goes into a more old school direction as well as mixing in fast and raw guitar riffing along with blast beats in certain parts of the song.
Song lyrics are written in a mixture of English and Finnish and cover anti-revisionist themes, while the production has a very old school, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Puna Terrori are a very great sounding noisy and raw black metal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Empires In Ruin" and "The Path To Our Destiny". RECOMMENDED BUY.
