Faded Grave are a 1 man band from Rhode Island that plays a raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2009 demo "As The Dawn Of Chaos Advances".
"Sorrowful Night" which is also the first song on the demo opens up with dark ambient style synths and rain sounds and serves as an intro for the demo.
"The Ossuary Of All Experience" begins with heavy guitar riffs and drums and then going into a faster direction along with some grim sounding black metal screams and blast beats before going into a more mid paced direction and then alternating between mid paced and fast parts.
"The Moors Of Death" which is also an Ureghal cover starts up with old school black metal guitar riffs, drums and grim screams and after a couple of minutes melodies start finding their way into the guitar riffing.
"Triumphant In Battle" opens up with fast, raw and primitive sounding black metal guitar riffs and drums which also leads up to grim vocals and blast beats and then it goes into a slower direction for a few seconds and then an old school black metal mid paced direction.before speeding up again and then alternating between slow and fast parts.
"Extinction" which is also the last song on the demo kicks in with dark ambient sounding synths and serves as an outro for the demo.
Song lyrics cover darkness and coldness, while the production has a very dark, old school, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Faded Grave are a very great sounding raw, old school black metal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Ossuary Of All Experience" and "Triumphant In Battle". RECOMMENDED BUY.
